The active ingredient of triptorelin acetate is a synthetic analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone. Its structural modification is that the sixth L-glycine in the natural molecular structure is replaced by D-tryptophan, making its agonist effect more significant and its plasma half-life longer. After injection of the drug, it will initially stimulate the pituitary gland to release luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone. When the pituitary gland enters a refractory period after long-term stimulation, the release of gonadotropin will decrease, thereby reducing sex steroids to castration levels. The above effects are reversible.
